Block Body-Back Upper-3-2-Angle-2-3-Step Pivot-2

This advanced sequence begins with a defensive absorption to create an immediate opening, transitions into a vertical and horizontal assault, utilizes footwork to dominate the angle, and concludes with a positional reset that reloads the power hand for a final finish.

Phase 1: Defensive Absorption and Vertical Counter (Block Body - Back Upper)

The sequence initiates by absorbing the opponent's attack to immediately launch a powerful return fire from the rear side.

  • Block: The combination starts with a defensive action. By keeping your guard tight, you anticipate and absorb the opponent's punch. This neutralizes their attack while keeping you in position to launch your own follow-up, effectively turning their offense into an opportunity for you.
  • Back Upper (Back Uppercut): Immediately following the block, you deliver a powerful counter-punch with your dominant (rear) hand. This punch is designed to come "up the middle" and break through a tight guard. To generate the necessary power, you must quickly bend your knees, drop your hips, and fire your hand upward, re-engaging your core and legs for the strike.

Phase 2: Rhythmic Pressure (3 - 2)

Following the uppercut, you transition to a classic hook-straight sequence to establish rhythm and maintain pressure.

  • 3 (Front Hook): This lead-hand punch follows the uppercut, attacking from a different angle that the opponent isn't expecting. To ensure proper reach and power, focus on extending fully by aligning the elbow with the wrist and letting the shoulder blade rotate.
  • 2 (Straight Back Hand): You act immediately with a rapid continuation, throwing the straight back hand. This power punch leverages the rotation of your hips and torso to maintain pressure on the opponent.

Phase 3: Creating the Advantage (Angle - 2 - 3)

This phase utilizes footwork to shift the line of attack, confusing the opponent and catching them while they are out of position.

  • Angle (Angle to the side): You take a small but crucial angled step to the side (stepping right for an orthodox boxer). This move gets your head and body off the centerline, causing any counter-punch to miss, and critically positions you on the opponent's exposed side where they are less able to defend.
  • 2 (Straight Back Hand): Delivered immediately after gaining the superior angle, this powerful shot is aimed down the middle. It catches the opponent completely off guard as they turn or adjust to defend the new angle you have created.
  • 3 (Front Hook): Without pausing, you follow the straight with another front hook. This attacks from a different angle, further confusing the opponent and maintaining pressure as they try to recover.

Phase 4: Positional Reset and Power Finish (Step Pivot - 2)

The combination concludes with advanced footwork that resets your stance and reloads your body for a final, decisive blow.

  • Step Pivot: After landing the hook, you perform a step pivot to reset your stance. This involves stepping forward and pivoting, which shifts your attack angle and puts you outside your opponent’s potential counters. Crucially, this move reloads your back hand for another straight.
  • 2 (Straight Back Hand): As the opponent turns to find you after your pivot, you are already loaded and ready to fire your most powerful punch. You capitalize on the load created from the previous movement to finish the combination with authority.
