Double Jab: You start with a rapid double jab. The importance of doubling up your jab is multi-faceted. It can be used to push someone back, forcing them to retreat and give you space. It can also be used to draw a reaction, often making your opponent throw a counter, which you are ready to evade. Finally, it's an excellent tool to keep someone away by controlling the distance and rhythm of the exchange.
Roll: As your opponent reacts, you immediately execute a roll to your left (for an orthodox stance). This defensive move is designed to avoid a straight punch or overhand punch coming from their rear hand. By dipping under the punch, you remain close enough to counter.
Hook: As you come out of the roll, you launch a powerful hook to the chin or ear with your front hand. This punch capitalizes on your opponent's vulnerability, as their guard is likely compromised from throwing their own punch.
