1-2-Front Upper-2-Roll-Hook Body-Hook Body

  • Jab (1)-Straight Back Hand (2): Start with a quick, straight jab from your lead hand. This is your range finder and setup punch. Immediately follow the jab with a powerful, straight punch from your rear hand. This is your power shot. The classic 1-2 combo is the foundation of boxing.

  • Front Upper: Immediately after the straight back hand, you transition into a front uppercut. This punch capitalizes on your opponent's head dropping or their guard being compromised, aiming for the chin or solar plexus.

  • Straight Back Hand (2): Without pause, follow the uppercut with another powerful straight back hand. This relentless pressure can overwhelm an opponent.

  • Roll: Immediately after throwing the final straight back hand, you perform a defensive roll to the side of your back hand (for an orthodox stance, this means a roll to the right). The roll is a swift head and torso movement to evade a counter-punch, which would likely be a hook or a straight.

  • Hook Body: As you finish the roll and are coming back up, you deliver a hook to the body on that same side. Your opponent will be open on this side, as their own punch has created an opening. This is a great way to punish them for their counter-attack.

  • Hook Body: Without pause, you follow up with another hook to the body on the same side. The purpose of doubling up on the body is to maximize the impact of the initial body shot and to drain your opponent's energy.
